Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a telephone conversation with his Greek counterpart Giorgos Gerapetritis, stressing the need for joint regional and international efforts to secure the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Agreement and move forward with all its provisions.
In a statement, the Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf said Abdelatty stressed the importance of creating a political horizon that leads to the establishment of a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 lines in line with international references.
He noted that the recent UN Security Council resolution on Gaza should reinforce the ceasefire and improve security for Palestinians, while supporting the international stabilization force in Gaza so it can carry out its responsibilities.
For his part, Gerapetritis praised Egypt’s efforts to advance fair and comprehensive peace and strengthen regional stability.
Additionally, Abdelatty stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire in El Fasher, calling for stronger regional and international support for the Sudanese people and their national institutions.
Both sides reaffirmed the strength of Egypt–Greece relations and their shared determination to continue close coordination amid growing regional and global challenges.
