Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Libya’s security is an integral part of Egyptian and Arab national security.
The top diplomat gave the remarks during his participation on Thursday in the meeting of the Tripartite Mechanism of Libya’s Neighboring Countries, hosted by Algeria, with the participation Algerian Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad and African Affairs Ahmed Attaf and Tunisia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti.
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Tamim Khalaf said Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s firm stance on the Libyan crisis – emphasizing that a Libyan-led and Libyan-owned political solution would be the only way to end the crisis and achieve stability, under UN auspices and without external interference or imposition.
The minister said Egypt will continue close coordination and consultation with both Algeria and Tunisia within the framework of this tripartite mechanism, in a way that supports the Libyan brothers in achieving their aspirations for security, development and prosperity, said the spokesman.
