Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has issued an official statement clarifying recent rumors circulating on social media regarding the highly anticipated opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum.
The Ministry confirmed that it has not issued any calls for volunteers to help organize the opening ceremony, scheduled for November 1.
The statement emphasised that all organisational arrangements for the event have already been completed in coordination with relevant national authorities to ensure a celebration befitting Egypt’s heritage and the museum’s status as one of the 21st century’s most significant cultural landmarks.
Additionally, the Ministry made clear that no tickets are being sold to attend the opening ceremony. Any claims suggesting otherwise are inaccurate.
In a gesture to the public and visitors from around the world, the museum will officially open its doors to all guests beginning November 4, coinciding with the anniversary of the discovery of the tomb of the golden king, Tutankhamun, a truly symbolic date for Egyptology and cultural history lovers.
The Ministry reiterates its commitment to transparency and invites everyone to join this historic occasion by visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum when it welcomes the public next month.
