Egypt’s Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk stated that simplifying and digitizing procedures contribute to reducing the cost of voluntary compliance and attracting new taxpayers.

He stressed the importance of optimally utilizing technological solutions to improve the quality of tax services and protect the rights of our partners.

During a session titled “digital transformation in tax administration” held as part of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB) meetings in Washington Saturday, Kouchouk added that “electronic tax systems have helped facilitate procedures for taxpayers and expand the tax base.”

He noted that automated systems enhanced our ability to build a relationship of trust, partnership and certainty with the tax community.

He highlighted ongoing efforts to develop qualified human resources capable of operating advanced electronic systems to serve the tax community, emphasizing the establishment of a strong and effective communication channel to clearly explain incentive-driven reforms.
