Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, and Executive Director of the Future of Egypt(Mustaqbal Misr) Sustainable Development Authority Colonel Baha El-Ghannam.
Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Mohamed el-Shennawy, said the meeting reviewed the work progress on the projects being implemented under the “Future of Egypt” Sustainable Development Authority. These projects include construction work and various activities encompassing agriculture, industry,livestock, urban development, and the provision of direct and indirect job opportunities, all within the framework of the partnership with the private sector.
the meeting also reviewed the Authority’s role in urban development projects. Colonel El-Ghannam presented updates on the eco-city currently being developed in collaboration with major real estate developers, aimed at boosting environmental and climate-related investment.
Colonel El-Ghannam briefed the President onefforts to achieve agricultural expansion in the “New Delta” region in Egypt’s western plateau, ongoing projects in Upper Egypt, the “Future of Egypt Industrial City”, and current joint initiatives with the Ministries of Agriculture and Land Reclamation and Supply and Internal Trade. These include steps to develop the commodity exchange, initiatives to secure strategic goods, and projects to boost storage capacity for key crops and essential food commodities, ensuring sufficient national reserves.
President Sisi underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships with the private sector and attracting foreign investment to achieve self-sufficiency in strategic goods and ensure sustainable access to citizens’ needs.
He directed the provision of full support for strategic projects, particularly those related to grain and cereal storage silos, while reaffirming Egypt’s commitment to expanding arable land, increasing production, and advancing agro-industrial development.
He stressed the importance of maintaining a fair balance between producers and consumers within the framework of comprehensive development.
President Sisi also highlighted the Authority’s central role in driving projects across multiple sectors, describing it as a cornerstone in implementing the state’s strategy for sustainable development with its economic, social, and environmental dimensions.
He stressed the need to adhere to established timelines for the completion and delivery of these projects.
