Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Mageed Saqr met with Somali Defense Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi and his accompanying delegation.
The meeting dealt with ways to strengthen military co-operation between the armed forces of both countries and support efforts aimed at promoting security and stability across the African continent.
The defense minister expressed Egypt’s pride in its longstanding relations with Somalia and reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to deepening cooperation in various military fields.
For his part, Fiqi praised Egypt’s sincere efforts to achieve peace and security for all the peoples of Africa, highlighting the shared vision and mutual understanding between the two countries on a range of regional and international issues of common concern.
The meeting was attended by Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa along with a number of senior military commanders.
