Flydubai, the Dubai-based carrier, announced a significant expansion of its fleet, with plans to reach a total of 95 aircraft by the end of 2025.

This growth follows the recent delivery of seven new Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, with five more scheduled to arrive before the year’s end.

This fleet expansion is set to enhance the airline’s operational efficiency, increase flight frequencies on existing routes, and support the ongoing growth of its network, which currently serves over 135 destinations across 57 countries.

“The arrival of these new aircraft is crucial to our mission of offering more choices and maintaining the high quality of service and comfort our passengers expect,” said CEO of flydubai Ghaith Al-Ghaith.

He noted that while the airline has received 12 new aircraft this year, it is still working to catch up on a backlog of 20 aircraft from previous years.

Al-Ghaith also confirmed the strong financial backing for the expansion, stating, “The continued interest from our financing partners highlights the strength of our business model and our commitment to contributing to Dubai’s leadership in the global aviation sector. These new aircraft will enable us to expand our network, connect Dubai to more global markets, and play a greater role in supporting Dubai as a leading global aviation hub.”

In addition to its fleet growth, flydubai continues to expand its route network, having already launched 11 new destinations this year, including seasonal summer routes to Antalya and El Alamein, as well as new service to Damascus and Peshawar.

The airline is also preparing to introduce four new routes in Europe, with flights to Chisinau and Iasi set to begin in September, followed by Vilnius and Riga in December.
