RAFAH – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty Monday emphasised Egypt’s unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and firm rejection of deliberate starvation campaigns and forced displacement.
“Standing here today on the Egyptian side of the Rafah crossing is not a symbolic act,” Abdelatty said. “Egypt has always been, and will continue to be a steadfast supporter of the Palestinian people in their pursuit of inalienable rights, self-determination, and the establishment of an independent state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem (Al Quds) as its capital.”
He conveyed President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s message to the Palestinian people enduring dire humanitarian conditions: “We are with you in your suffering and resilience on your land. Our message is clear; Egypt rejects all attempts at displacement, the undermining of Palestinian rights, and the scorched-earth practices of the Israeli occupation.”
Abdelatty made the remarks during a joint press conference with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa following their arrival at the gate of the Rafah Border Crossing in North Sinai.
The event was attended by members of the Palestinian delegation, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy, and North Sinai Governor Khaled.
