Commander-in- Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defence and Military Production General Abdel Majeed Saqr met on Tuesday with Pakistan’s Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, who is currently on an official visit to Cairo.

The meeting discussed a wide range of topics of mutual interest, focusing on ways to expand military co-operation across various domains.

Both sides explored efforts to strengthen joint capabilities and coordination in the face of shared security challenges.

General Saqr appreciated the long-standing and close ties between the Egyptian and Pakistani armed forces, emphasising the importance of expanding the scope of military collaboration to serve the mutual interests of both countries.

For his part, General Mirza reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening defence relations with Egypt.

He highlighted his country’s keenness to boost knowledge exchange and joint training initiatives in multiple military fields in the coming period.

Following the bilateral meeting, both delegations held a formal session of talks to explore opportunities for enhanced defence and security co-operation.
