As part of the State’s strategic vision to position Egypt as a regional hub for the leather industry, the Ministry of Industry has announced the continued reception of investment applications for the second offering at Robbiki Leather City (RLC). The offering, part of RLC’s third development phase, focuses on the production of finished leather goods and their accessories and will remain open until July 27, 2025.
The step reflects the Egyptian government’s unwavering commitment to developing the leather industry as a key pillar of the national economy.
Cairo for Investment and Development (CID), the developer and operator of the city, is offering 36 fully equipped, production-ready units built to the highest industrial and environmental standards. The new offering follows the resounding success of the first phase and aims to attract manufacturers looking to join a competitive, integrated industrial ecosystem serving both domestic and international markets.
Investors can apply through Egypt’s Industrial Digital Platform (madein.eg) using a streamlined electronic system that allows for the purchase of the terms and conditions booklet, submission of applications, and uploading of required documentation.
In accordance with directives from Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el-Wazir, the offering accommodates a diverse range of investor needs. It includes six factories of 2,000 m², ten factories of 1,000 m², and twenty industrial workshops of 121 m².
The ministry highlighted a series of exceptional incentives accompanying the offering. These include a reduced down payment of just 25%, a one-year grace period, and installment plans extending up to six years for foreign investors, with a subsidised interest rate of 5%, managed directly through CID.
For those opting for the operational rent scheme, the investor pays a three-month rental deposit upon reservation, followed by an additional three months’ rent upon allocation. A grace period of three months is granted before the first installment is due.
In a move demonstrating institutional synergy to ease financial burdens on investors, the Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBank) has partnered with the Ministry of Industry as the official sponsor of this phase. EBank will provide a comprehensive suite of financial solutions, including up to 90% financing of industrial unit costs with repayment terms of up to 10 years, and financing for machinery, working capital, and technical support over a 7-year term.
This offering presents an ideal opportunity for manufacturers and brand owners—both domestic and foreign—engaged in finished leather goods and supporting industries.
Robbiki Leather City offers a full spectrum of competitive advantages, including advanced infrastructure, integrated utilities, a state-of-the-art industrial wastewater treatment plant, and full compliance with global environmental standards.
