EgyptAir is nearing the completion of its large-scale operation to return more than 66,000 Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to Egypt, with 330 flights scheduled as part of its air bridge for the 2025 Hajj season.

Captain Ahmed Adel, Chairman of the EgyptAir Holding Company, described the annual Hajj operation as both a national and humanitarian duty. He noted that the airline has mobilised all human, technical, and operational resources to ensure a smooth return for pilgrims.

“Specialised teams have been working around the clock at Egyptian airports, as well as at Jeddah and Madinah airports in Saudi Arabia, to provide the highest standard of service for our returning pilgrims,” Adel said. He also praised the Saudi authorities, particularly the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, for their support in streamlining procedures for Egyptian and international pilgrims.

As part of the nationwide effort, Cairo Airport Company has implemented extensive measures to support the smooth return of pilgrims. Dedicated teams have been deployed around the clock at key terminals, including the seasonal terminal designated for EgyptAir Hajj flights, Terminal 2 for Saudia flights and Terminal 1 for private charter operations.

Special attention has been given to elderly passengers and those with special needs, ensuring additional support is readily available.

Cairo Airport Security has also increased the number of passport control officers to accelerate immigration procedures, significantly reducing waiting times for incoming pilgrims.

Eng. Ayman Fawzy Arab, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation, said the success of this year’s Hajj return phase was the result of intensive coordination among all agencies operating at Cairo International Airport. A dedicated operations room was set up to monitor flights and respond swiftly to any inquiries or emerging needs.

“This integrated approach allowed flights to operate smoothly and significantly improved the travel experience for pilgrims,” he added.

He expressed his gratitude to all airport staff for their dedication and performance during the season, and wished continued success as the final flights land in the coming days.
