EgyptAir Cargo held a major ceremony at Le Méridien Cairo Airport to honour its top-performing local and international freight agents for the 2024/2025 fiscal year, in a move that reflects the company’s drive to strengthen partnerships and expand its global reach.

The event was attended by senior officials including Ehab El-Tohtawy, Chairman and CEO of EgyptAir Cargo; Ezzat Metwally, President of the Egyptian Aviation Academy; Mohamed Elayan, Chairman of EgyptAir Airlines; Ahmed Shennon, Chairman of Air Cairo; and representatives from the Ministry of Finance, Customs Authority, and aviation security bodies.
In his keynote address, El-Tohtawy praised the collaborative spirit that underpins EgyptAir Cargo’s success. “This celebration is a tribute to your outstanding performance, continuous dedication, and valuable contributions to our journey. You are not just agents – you are true partners,” he told attendees.

El-Tohtawy revealed that the company transported over 58,000 tonnes of cargo during the year – an 18% increase compared to the previous fiscal period – and exported 25,000 tonnes of agricultural products, a 2% rise from last year. He credited this growth to effective co-operation with export development funds and the Ministry of Finance.
In a notable milestone, the company secured full rights to transport all categories of dangerous goods from China, after previously being restricted to just two. El-Tohtawy described this as a “global endorsement of our operational standards and safety compliance.”

He also confirmed plans to expand EgyptAir Cargo’s destination network to include Juba, Johannesburg, and Djibouti, alongside increased frequencies on existing routes.
In a significant fleet development, the company is set to convert two Airbus A330 passenger aircraft into freighters. “This will boost our operational capacity and open new horizons,” El-Tohtawy said.

On the financial front, he confirmed that all outstanding payments for the 2023–2024 agricultural export season had been successfully recovered, thanks to close coordination with agents and the Finance Ministry. He pledged continued transparency and timely payments to partners.
To reinforce loyalty and excellence, El-Tohtawy announced the launch of EgyptAir Cargo’s first-ever loyalty programme for freight agents, aimed at recognising top performers and deepening long-term collaboration.

The ceremony concluded with the awarding of the highest-selling agents. International awardees included Link Global (China), Allied Aviation (India) and Link Global (UAE).
The event underscored EgyptAir Cargo’s ambition to become a regional leader in air freight, backed by investment in fleet, compliance, and strategic partnerships.
