Egyptian President
Abdel Fattah El Sisi has called for the government to ensure the bolstering of the digital potential of its services when it moves to the New Administrative Capital (NAC). In this context, the president gave directives to the government to pay due attention to the cybersecurity of the information infrastructure in the NAC and to develop advanced training programmes for workers to raise the level of knowledge and know-how in applying cybersecurity standards.

The directives to this effect came during President Sisi’s meeting Monday with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and the cabinet ministers of information technology and housing, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said, adding that the presidential advisor for urban planning, the head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority and the director of the Armed Forces Information Systems Department attended the meeting.

The meeting was devoted to a review of the executive position of action to move government ministries and agencies to the NAC.

President Sisi’s directives called for expanding institutional and human development efforts, especially through qualifying human cadres and offering them training to enhance digital skills.

The president also gave directives for conducting experimental operation of the NAC’s electronic system before the actual moving of cabinet ministries and government agencies there and that all government departments concerned participate in the experimental operation, Spokesman Radi said.
