Alamein International Airport has announced a strategic collaboration with Emaar Egypt in a pioneering move to transform the airport’s terminals into a luxury tourism experience that mirrors the upscale atmosphere of the nearby Marassi resort.
The partnership marks a significant shift in how airports integrate with surrounding tourist destinations, and it is the first of its kind in Egypt. The initiative aligns with directives from Egypt’s Minister of Civil Aviation, Dr. Samah El-Hefny, and Wael El-Nashar, Chairman of the Egyptian Airports Company.
As part of the project, Emaar Egypt will introduce high-resolution visual installations inside the terminal to evoke the resort-like feel of Marassi. The goal is to offer passengers a seamless transition from airport arrival to a premium holiday setting.

The vision extends beyond the terminal interior. Coordinated landscaping and exterior design will further enhance the visual identity of the airport, ensuring that the travel experience begins the moment passengers arrive at Alamein.
The initiative reflects a broader ambition to position airports not merely as transportation hubs but as integral components of the tourism ecosystem. By incorporating tourism marketing directly into the passenger journey, officials hope to attract more visitors and stimulate the local economy.
The collaboration is part of a larger strategy to modernise Alamein International Airport’s infrastructure and services, under the Civil Aviation Ministry’s push to introduce innovative concepts in airport operations, particularly in locations with strong tourism appeal like Egypt’s North Coast.
Officials say the project also highlights the growing role of public-private partnerships in advancing the country’s aviation and tourism sectors, with a focus on sustainability and enhancing Egypt’s global image as a top travel destination.
