Minister of Public Business Sector, Engineer Mohamed Shimi, probed on Tuesday with Dr Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the General Authority for Healthcare and General Supervisor of the Comprehensive Health Insurance Project, ways of strengthening collaboration across key areas that provide healthcare services and public sector capabilities.
Discussions centered on integrating healthcare services for employees of the Ministry’s affiliated companies with the General Authority’s system. The goal is to raise the quality and efficiency of care provided across medical facilities linked to these companies, while expanding access to comprehensive insurance services.
The meeting also explored mechanisms to supply the Authority with essential pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, and disinfectants, leveraging production capabilities of Ministry-affiliated entities under the Holding Company for Pharmaceuticals and the Holding Company for Chemical Industries.
This step, the ministry said in a statement, supports the national health insurance system with high-quality local products and aligns with broader efforts to promote medical tourism through the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels.
Minister Shimi underscored the strategic value of institutional integration, noting that ongoing collaboration with the Healthcare Authority plays a crucial role in achieving national goals.
He stressed the importance of public sector companies in developing healthcare infrastructure, enhancing services for employees, and providing essential goods and services, particularly in the pharmaceutical, textile, and construction industries.
