CAIRO – Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi on Tuesday discussed with Ahmad Al Mutawa, the Regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group (AD Ports Group), and his accompanying delegation ways of enhancing cooperation.
Badawi congratulated AD Ports Group delegation on signing an agreement on the development of the “Kezad East Port Said” zone, an industrial and logistics hub to be established through a partnership with Egypt’s General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), the Petroleum Ministry said in a statement issued on Tuesday.
The minister highlighted the promising investment opportunities of Egypt’s petroleum and mineral resources sector, within the framework of the six key pillars of the Ministry’s strategy that will contribute to furthering cooperation between the AP ports and the SCZone in trade, industry, and logistics.
Badawi highlighted Egypt’s key investment opportunities in renewable and clean energy projects, including the hydrogen and the green ammonia.
Meanwhile, the regional CEO of Abu Dhabi Ports Group praised the six pillars of the Ministry’s strategy, which include diverse activities aligning with the group’s strategy that prioritizes injecting investments in Egypt.
The two sides agreed to hold joint workshops to study potential projects and develop visions and mechanisms for their implementation throughout the coming period.
