Egyptian Minister of Public Business Sector, Mohamed Shimi, met on Wednesday in the New Administrative Capital (NAC) with Danish Chargé d’Affaires in Cairo, Frej Jackson, to discuss ways to enhance economic and trade co-operation and explore partnership and investment opportunities.
Representatives from major Danish companies operating in Egypt across sectors such as pharmaceuticals, food, agriculture, energy, transportation, shipping, mining, cement, and software, attended the meeting.
Shimi and Jackson reviewed potential areas of collaboration between Danish firms and companies affiliated with the Public Business Sector Ministry.
Minister Shimi underscored the depth and strengthof Egyptian-Danish relations, noting their “remarkable development,” particularly the elevation to a strategic partnership.
He welcomed cooperation with Danish companies and highlighted “many promising investment opportunities” within the ministry’s subsidiaries as part of ongoing development and modernisation plans.
Shimi also stressed the importance of exchanging expertise and leveraging Denmark’s advanced experience to support Egypt’s industrial and technological transformation, foster sustainable partnerships, and attract further investment to bolster the national economy.
For his part, Jackson expressed Denmark’s keenness to strengthen cooperation with Egypt, citing President Abdel Fattah ElSisi’s visit to Denmark last year, which elevated bilateral ties.
He emphasised the interest of Danish companies in expanding their investments in the Egyptian market, citing its significant potential and attractive strategic location.
