President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and French President Emmanuel Macron attended on Monday the signing of a number of agreements and Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries following their talks in Cairo.
The agreements covered a declaration of intention on cooperation with French Health Ministry signed on the Egyptian side by Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar and French side by Health Minister Yannick Neuder.
President Sisi received at Ittihadia Palace Monday President Emmanuel Macron as the two leaders held a bilateral meeting followed by a session of plenary talks between the two countries’ delegations.
Macron arrived in Cairo Sunday on a three-day official visit to Egypt.
Minister of Health Khaled Adel Ghaffar signed an agreement with Professor Fabrice Barlesi, director of the French National Cancer Institute (INCa), Gustave Roussy, to establish and develop a cancer institute in Cairo.
Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El Wazir and French Economy Minister Eric Lombard signed a deal to pave the way for prolonging cooperation in the sixth line of Cairo’s metro.
The two sides signed a deal between the ministries of higher education in the two countries as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour signed for the Egyptian while French Higher Education minister Philippe Baptiste signed for his country.
A joint declaration on the renewal of technical and financial cooperation was signed to carry out projects of top priority. It was signed by Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania al Mashat on the Egyptian side while French Economy Minister Eric Lombard signed for his country.
A joint declaration on launching four investment projects was signed. Minister Mashat signed for Egypt while Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs signed for the French side.
A deal was signed to establish 100 Francophone schools in Egypt where Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty signed for Egypt and Jean-Noël Barrot for the French side.
