CAIRO – Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania al Mashat praised historic and strong relations between Egypt and China as well as their remarkable development throughout the past years, especially after the signing of a comprehensive strategic partnership deal in 2014 during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s visit to China.
China is one of Egypt’s key development partners, Mashat said, adding that Cooperation between the two countries covers various sectors, including the infrastructure, scientific research, investment in the human capital, health, education and other vital sectors.
The minister made the remarks during a meeting with Egypt’s newly-appointed Ambassador to China Khaled Nazmy.
During the meeting, Mashat said that the advancement of Egyptian-Chinese economic relations is manifested in several notable agreements, including inking the first of its kind debt swapping Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in October 2023 during the third Belt and Road Forum summit.
