The Egyptian Journalists’ Syndicate recently hosted a specialized training workshop focused on digital literacy at its training center. This workshop is part of a continuing collaboration between the Syndicate and TikTok, the world’s leading short-form video platform, following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed last year.
The partnership aims to raise awareness around the importance of digital literacy, information verification, source evaluation, and the creation of impactful digital content. Building on the co-operation protocol established between the Syndicate and the platform, the workshop sought to enhance digital awareness, media literacy, and skills for identifying misinformation, along with promoting online privacy protection.

This training workshop marks the second in a series following the initial session held in July of the previous year. The event was structured in two informative sessions. The first focused on best practices for creating engaging content with added value. Participants were introduced to a range of creative tools, such as sound effects and interactive videos, which can help amplify the reach and effectiveness of digital journalistic content.
By equipping journalists with these essential skills, the Syndicate aims to empower them in adapting to the rapidly evolving digital landscape while promoting responsible content creation and consumption.
