CAIRO – Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli and his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković witnessed the inking ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the Egyptian Culture Ministry and the Croatian Ministry of Culture and Media to start an executive programme for cultural cooperation between the governments of Egypt and Croatia in 2025-2028.

The MoU was inked by Culture Minister Ahmed Fouad Hanno and Croatian Minister of Culture and Media Nina Obuljen.

The memo aims at starting an executive programme for cultural cooperation between both countries within the framework of strengthening their cultural ties, Madbouli said, adding that the program will be in force as of today.

For his part, Hanno said that the program aims at promoting joint cooperation in different cultural fields, including exchanging expertise and training in cultural development fields.

The program also targets enhancing cooperation in traditional arts, publishing, music, and audio-visual activities, he added, noting that the memorandum of understanding includes as well cooperation between national libraries and archives, encouraging the participation of publishers in international book fairs, and exchanging literary translation to enhance cultural rapprochement between the two countries’ peoples.

Also, it covers collaboration in film production and protection of cinematic heritage, in addition to cooperation in the field of cultural heritage conservation, according to him.
