Egypt won the membership of the executive council of the UN Tourism from 2025 to 2029.
This came during a meeting of the UN Tourism’s regional committee for the Middle East held in Doha under Jordan.
Egyptian Tourism Minister Sherif Fathy and Egypt’s Ambassador to Qatar Amr el Sherbini took part in the event.
A number of tourism ministers and heads of delegations of Arab countries, including Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Jordan, Oman, Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Iraq and Egypt, attended the event.
Fathy lauded the Arab accord that gave Egypt the chance to get the membership without vote.
