CAIRO – Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Ayman Ashour had a meeting on Tuesday with French Ambassador to Egypt Eric Chevallier and his accompanying delegation to discuss boosting bilateral cooperation.

During their meeting, the minister lauded ties between Egypt and France, underlining the strong steps taken over the past period to promote cooperation between the two sides.

He cited the signing of the largest framework agreement for international partnership between Egyptian and French universities that was signed in June 2024. The agreement will also offer dual degrees in 15 scientific disciplines.

Ashour further noted that effective cooperation between Egypt and France culminated in a number of successful educational projects, including the French University of Egypt (UFE: Université française d’Egypte) that was established in 2002 in Cairo’s El-Sherouk city.

For his part, the French diplomat expressed his country’s deep appreciation of educational and cultural ties with Egypt.

He also expressed France’s readiness to strengthen cooperation with Egypt in developing innovative educational programmes.
