Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir witnessed the inking of a memorandum of understanding between the Holding Company for Maritime and Land Transport (HCMLT) and Abu Dhabi Ports (AD Ports).
The memo is meant to upgrade a logistic zone at Alexandria Port.
Wazir asserted that the inking fell within the framework of the implementation of a comprehensive plan by the Ministry of Industry and Transport to upgrade the system of Egyptian maritime transport and maritime ports to transform Egypt to a region center for transport, logistics and transit trade.
He highlighted the directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in this regard as well as the comprehensive plan of the ministry to establish 32 dry ports and logistic zone in Egypt.
He asserted the importance of the logistic zone project at Alexandria Port, noting that this zone will witness projects in several industrial domains, fields related to maritime transport, complementary industries and added value industries.
