Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly presided over the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) and “Konecta Egypt,” a subsidiary of the Spanish group Konecta, a global leader in digital and CX AI.

The event was attended by Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, and Nourdine Bihmane, Group CEO of Konecta.

The MoU was signed by Eng. Ahmed El-Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, and Mr. Ahmed El-Harany, CEO of Konecta for the Middle East and Africa.

Under this MoU, Konecta Group is launching its operations in Egypt by establishing a regional headquarters in New Cairo, serving markets across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and the Americas.

The company plans to invest circa $100 million over the next three years and hire close to 3,000 specialists to deliver advanced digital and technical services, including AI solutions, digital transformation, cybersecurity, big data & analytics, IoT, technical support, and multilingual customer services in English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish.

Konecta will establish its first Global Center of Excellence (CoE) for Gen-AI in Egypt, serving its global delivery operations and leveraging knowledge and expertise transferred from the Group.

The MoU also highlights plans for joint collaboration, including specialized training and upskilling programs with ITIDA to enhance the skills and global competitiveness of Egyptian talent.

This partnership is expected to boost Egypt’s IT and communication technology exports to international markets.

Dr. Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, stated:
“The growth of the offshoring industry and the rising interest from global companies in establishing service centers in Egypt to deliver advanced digital services highlight the country’s competitiveness in this thriving sector.

Egypt offers high-quality digital services in multiple languages, backed by a skilled talent pool.

The government remains committed to creating a business-friendly environment for companies in this sector and providing essential support to equip Egyptian talent with the skills needed to keep pace with rapid technological advancements.”

He added, “Konecta’s decision to expand its operations in Egypt will not only create valuable job opportunities but also play a pivotal role in developing young talents capable of meeting the growing demand for outsourcing services across European, American, and Middle Eastern markets.”

Eng. Ahmed El Zaher, CEO of ITIDA, commented: “This partnership marks a significant milestone in advancing Egypt’s IT sector and underscores the growing confidence of leading global IT companies in Egyptian talent.

It will generate diverse job opportunities across key areas, including business process outsourcing, IT services, and engineering R&D.

At ITIDA, we remain committed to fostering an enabling business environment that supports the growth of global service delivery centers and attracts further investments into Egypt’s outsourcing industry.”

Nourdine Bihmane, Group CEO of Konecta, stated: “This strategic partnership with ITIDA emphasizes our commitment to innovation and collaboration for growth across the Middle East and Africa.

By establishing our regional headquarters in Egypt, we aim to harness the country’s exceptional talent pool to deliver cutting-edge digital solutions and foster a highly skilled workforce that will shape the future of customer experience globally.”

Mr. Ahmed El Harany, CEO of Konecta for the Middle East and Africa, stated: “Choosing Egypt as a regional hub for our operations stems from its competitive advantages, particularly its highly skilled workforce and advanced digital infrastructure.

We are confident that this strategic partnership will drive significant success.”

He added: “Our operations will start in Egypt, and during the group delegation’s current visit to align on the ongoing strategy of expanding Konecta Egypt”
