Cairo International Airport achieved a record milestone on Thursday, January 2, marking the highest daily traffic since its establishment in 1963.

The Egyptian Ministry of Civil Aviation announced that the airport handled 97,000 passengers in a single day, including 47,700 arrivals and 49,300 departures, across 667 flights.

In 2024, Cairo International Airport accommodated 28.775 million passengers on 211,664 flights, compared to 26.463 million passengers and 198,943 flights in 2023. This reflects a significant growth in both passenger numbers and flight operations.

Egyptian airports overall recorded a total of 22.097 million passengers in 2024, a 9% increase from 20.276 million in 2023. The total number of flights also rose by 3%, reaching 167,684 flights compared to 162,773 flights the previous year.

These figures highlight the expanding role of Egypt’s aviation sector in regional and global travel, alongside its continued recovery and growth.
