Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Expatriate Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty met with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dart on the sidelines of the 11th D-8 Summit held in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital.

During their meeting, Senator Dar praised the Egyptian government for its excellent arrangements for the summit and thanked Minister Abdelatty for the warm hospitality extended to the Pakistani delegation. Both leaders emphasized the longstanding and multifaceted relationship between their two countries, built on shared values, faith, and cultural ties. They also highlighted the strong cooperation between Pakistan and Egypt on both bilateral and multilateral fronts.

The two Foreign Ministers agreed to further enhance their political, defense, cultural, and economic relations, with a focus on expanding trade and investment opportunities. They also stressed the importance of improving people-to-people connections.

Regional and international issues were also discussed, with particular attention to the ongoing violence in Gaza and the West Bank. Minister Dar commended Egypt’s role in providing humanitarian aid to Palestinians and its efforts to secure an immediate ceasefire. Both ministers reiterated their support for a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, based on the establishment of a viable Palestinian state along pre-1967 borders, with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as its capital.

The two leaders agreed to maintain high-level contacts and continue working closely to strengthen the bilateral partnership. Senator Dar also invited Minister Abdelatty to visit Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.
