Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty had a series of separate phone calls with Foreign Ministers Tete António of Angola, Shegun Adjadi of Benin, Mbae Mohamed of Comoros, and José Filomeno Monteiro of Cape Verde along with the Sierra Leone’s Deputy Foreign Minister Francess Alghali.
This fell within the framework of promoting relations with African countries in various domains.
Abdelatty said during the phone calls that he is looking forward to enhancing bilateral ties and exploring new cooperation opportunties.
He underscored the importance of activating joint committees to enhance cooperation in the political, economic, commerical and investment domains in addition to launching business forums to bolster cooperation among government and private sectors.
He highlighted the key role played by Egyptian companies to support development projects in many African countries in light of its long experience.
He urged increasing exchanged visits to enhance coordination and promote cooperation frameworks.
He reviewed with his African counterparts the latest developments in the African Union, stressing the importance of continued consultation on various issues of mututal concern in the union.
He also stressed the importance of coordination with regard to the union’s action mechanisms and means of activating the AU’s institutions to promote integration among African countries.
He agreed with his African countperars on joint coordination frameworks to support African issues.
