FM delivers El Sisi’s message to DRC president  1 - Egyptian Gazette

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty conveyed yesterday a message from President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Félix Tshisekedi.

The message included President El Sisi’s appreciation for the strong and long-standing historical bilateral relations between the two African countriesat all levels, i.e. political, economic, commercial, and water issues.

In a related event, Abdelattyvoiced on Friday his pride in the key role played by the Egyptian police battalion in peacekeeping missions in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

This came during his meeting on Friday with members of the Egyptian police battalion participating in peacekeeping missions as part of the United Nations Organization Stabilization Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (MONUSCO).

Minister Abdelatty lauded efforts made by the Egyptian policemen, stressing that their participation in peacekeeping missions reflects Egypt’s genuine commitment to supporting stability in Africa and contributing to preserving international peace and security.

He underlined that the strong presence of the Egyptian battalion in the DRC, a matter that reflected the depth of ties between the two countries.

The minister also stressed the importance of the strategic partnership with the countries of the Southern Nile Basin.

The minister also praised the commitment and discipline of the battalion members and their national role in performing their duty in a way that reflects Egypt’s leadership, stressing that the Egyptian state is proud of their efforts and dedication in serving humanity and maintaining international peace and security.
