CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Co-operation Rania el-Mashat said that her ministry is keen on co-operating with Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ).

On the sidelines of the inauguration of the FAJ new premises on Wednesday, Mashat said that Egypt is always keen on communicating with Arab brethren.

Head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) Karam Gabr and FAJ Chairman Muayad al Lamy took part in the event.

Egypt embraces several Arab organisations and federations, she said, adding that the FAJ is special and important in the community.

The new premises was once one of the premises of the Ministry of International Co-operation, she said.

Meanwhile, Lamy thanked Egypt for allocating the new premises to the FAJ which includes 20 Arab countries.

The FAJ location in Egypt is very important as Egypt is prominent in all the political, scientific, cultural, artistic and literary fields, he said.

Meanwhile, Gabr said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is keen on supporting journalism and meeting Arab journalists.
