SHARM EL SHEIKH – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said Tuesday that Egypt moved quickly to deal with the passive repercussions of the climate change.
Addressing a round table titled “The road from Glasgow to Sharm el-Sheikh to confront climate changes” with the participation of senior world officials, the President said that Egypt talked with world automobile companies five years ago to manufacture electricity and gas-powered cars as alternatives to the fossil fuel-powered vehicles.
The president called for co-operation between governments and the private sector to face the climate change problems pointing out that there is a chance to turn between 200 million and 300 million cars around the world to run on clean energy.

He said that Egypt managed to clear all lakes and lined with cement about 40 kilometres of canals at costs reaching LE80 billion and also implemented the Decent Life initiative to improve the life of 60 million people living in rural areas a matter that created job opportunities to youth and helped operate cement and steel factories as well as transport means.
The president pointed out to the establishment of a strong road network although the country is not suffering from harmful gas emissions.
The president said during “The road from Glasgow to Sharm el-Sheikh to confront climate changes” round table with the participation of senior world officials as part of the World Youth Forum that the humanitarian work mechanisms are able to face any negative developments, pointing out that human beings who can destroy have also the ability to build.

The president welcomed the participants of the event and thanked them for the effort they exert to render the COP-27 conference which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh late this year a success.
“God created human beings who are able to reconstruct for development, so any form of negative development can be dealt with through human mechanisms, the president said.”
President Sisi said that Egypt has no major carbon emission problems and despite that it moved quickly and effectively to deal with any future problem.
He stressed the importance of finding a strong will to change the pollution problems, calling on the media outlets to tackle this issue in a way warning against the repercussions of the climate change.
President Sisi urged all parties either politicians or financers or the private sector to seize the opportunity of change.
