Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsi opened on Tuesday the inaugural meeting of the joint committee between the Ministry of Social Solidarity, the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood (NCCM), and the National Council for Women (NCW). President of the National Council for Childhood and Motherhood Sahar el-Sonbaty attended the meeting.
Discussions focused on exerting more efforts to develop care institutions and upgrade services provided to children across the country.
Morsi highlighted her ministry’s strategies to foster partnerships and collaboration with all state institutions to improve services for Egyptian citizens. She underscored the ministry’s commitment to enhancing support for families and children, especially those in care facilities and those deemed at risk.
She commended the significant contributions of the NCCM and the NCW in addressing key social issues. Morsi referred to the shared priorities between the two councils and the Ministry of Social Solidarity. She further noted that the coming period will see greater collaboration, coordination, and knowledge exchange to optimise the impact of these efforts, both domestically and internationally, across key areas such as family development, child welfare, women’s empowerment, and elderly care.
