RAMALLAH – Palestinian medical sources confirmed death of 12 Palestinians, including nine members of one family, as a result of Israeli raids targeting two homes in the Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza City and in Nuseirat Camp in the central Gaza Strip, WAFA reported.
In a statement Wednesday, paramedics from the Palestinian Red Crescent said nine martyrs from Farhat family were recovered as they were rescued after an Israeli warplane targeted a family apartment next to the Basat Market in Shuja’iyya neighborhood, east of Gaza.
The martyrs were transferred to the Baptist Hospital in the city, and they also recovered the bodies of three martyrs, including a child, in addition to a number of injured people, after the occupation aircraft bombed a house belonging to Al-Jamal family in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, the sources said.
The victims were transferred to Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat camp, they added.
Meantime, explosions resulted from Israeli artillery shelling in neighborhoods in various areas of Gaza City, coinciding with shooting from Israeli drones in the Al-Tawam area, northwest of the city.
The early hours of dawn also witnessed the recovery of the bodies of four martyrs, including a child, from under the rubble of a house for the Al-Khalidi family in the Bureij camp, after it was targeted by an air strike.
Israeli raids continued in the vicinity of Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip, as sources reported that the bodies of dozens of martyrs were scattered in the streets of Jabalia Camp, in light of the escalation of artillery shelling and gunfire in multiple areas, including the vicinity of Al-Sikka Street in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza.
Israeli occupation forces in Jabalia area, north of the Gaza Strip, told i24NEWS, the combat capabilities of Hamas fighters have improved since the recent invasion of the area and the tunnels that the Israeli army said it had destroyed more than half a year ago, have also returned.
The soldiers pointed out that Hamas members are fighting “as if they were at the beginning of the ground operation” in terms of quantity, level of weapons, desire to fight and courage to approach forces.
