Egypt’s Petroleum and Mineral Resources Minister Karim Badawi has discussed with the US ambassador to Egypt Herro Mustafa Garg ways to cement oil-linked cooperation between Cairo and Washington.
They also probed means to strengthen bilateral cooperation through the US companies operating in Egypt in the fields of petroleum, natural gas and energy.
They reviewed the ministry’s priorities for decarbonising the oil and gas sector.
The minister lauded good ties between Cairo and Washington, noting that the US is an important strategic partner for Egypt in several domains.
For her part, the ambassador said that the US is committed to working together with Egypt to tackle the effects of the climate crisis, and to ensure the well-being of the Egyptian and American people.
