This, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement, is meant to distract Israeli public opinion, and cripple negotiations- mediated by Egypt, Qatar and the United States- on reaching a ceasefire deal, hinder the exchange of captives and detainees.
Egypt also reaffirmed its total rejection of all allegations made by Israeli officials in this context.
The ministry stressed that Egypt holds the Israeli government accountable for the consequences of such statements, which serve to worsen the crisis, by justifying aggression and the provocative policies and contribute to further escalating the situation in the region.
