Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sweilam probed with senior officials of his ministry ongoing preparations for the 7th edition of Cairo Water Week which will be held on October 13-17 under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
He reaffirmed that Cairo Water Week has become a major platform for dialogue among various countries, regional and international organizations and specialists from all over the world, noting that the number of participants in the event has been rising since 2018 and expecting that its newest edition will see a high turnout, especially as it coincides with the 9th African Water Week which is expected to witness intensive African participation.
He noted that the theme of the 7th Cairo Water Week is “Water and Climate: Building Resilient Communities”.
Water and climate share an intricate relationship, proper dealing with them forms the bedrock for the establishment of sustainable and resilient communities.
