CAIRO – Egyptian women gained an unprecedented position under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, said Saudi Minister of Islamic Affairs, Dawah, and Guidance Sheikh Dr. Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh.
In exclusive statements to MENA, the Saudi minister also extended thanks to President Sisi for sponsoring the activities of the International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, which will discuss women-related issues.
The Saudi minister, meanwhile, affirmed the close ties binding Egypt and Saudi Arabia, affirming that the two countries represent an icon of peace and security for all Arabs.
He further referred to the close co-operation between the Egyptian and Saudi Awqaf ministries.
Regarding Saudi Arabia’s role in combating extremist thought, the minister said that the ministry made big strides in combating extremism, adding that it is currently adopting moderation, and true Islamic values in accordance with the upright teachings of Islam.
