Egypt and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have pledged to strengthen co-operation in the
electricity and renewable energy sectors.
Egyptian Electricity Minister Mahmoud Esmat met on Tuesday with UAE Ambassador to Cairo
Maryam Al-Kaabi to discuss ways to increase investment and collaboration in these areas.
Esmat praised the strong historical relationship between the two countries and highlighted the
success of existing partnerships with Emirati companies in Egypt’s renewable energy drive. The
minister emphasised Egypt’s focus on wind and solar power, as well as energy storage for peak
demand.
Ambassador Al-Kaabi described the Egypt-UAE relationship as a model for Arab co-operation
and reiterated the deep cultural and economic ties between the two nations.
