CAIRO – Egypt’s House of Representatives, under speaker Hanafi Gebali, approved on Wednesday a draft law amending law no. 102 of 1986 to establish an authority for development and use of new and renewable energy and law no. 203 of 2014 to encourage producing electricity from renewable energy.
The bill aims at encouraging electricity production from renewable energy in order to allow the authority for the development and use of new and renewable energy to increase its resources and practice its specialisations according to the state’s vision to expand the usage of renewable energy sources for electricity production.
