CAIRO – Egypt has strongly condemned the hazardous Israeli escalation over the past couple of days.
Israel’s assassination policy and its violation of the sovereignty of other states could foment conflicts in the region, the Foreign Ministry here warned in a statement Wednesday.
There is a risk of igniting confrontations in the region, thus leading to serious security repercussions, the statement said.
It called on the UN Security Council and international players to live up to their responsibility to end the dangerous escalation in the Middle East.
Egypt urged action to prevent things from getting out of control, stressing that the regional escalation will undermine efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza and end the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people.
