Egypt’s Civil Aviation Authority has successfully secured re-election to the Executive Council of the Arab Civil Aviation Organisation (ACAO) during the 28th General Assembly session. The Egyptian delegation, led by Captain Amr El-Sharkawy, included senior officials from the Civil Aviation Authority and representatives from 22 member countries.

The assembly, held with the participation of the Arab League, the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), the Arab Air Carriers Organisation, the African Civil Aviation Commission, and the European Civil Aviation Conference, also saw representatives from Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, and South Korea in attendance.

The executive council meetings preceded the general assembly, focusing on the re-election of council members. The elections concluded with Egypt securing its position alongside Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, Oman, and Morocco.

Key discussions during the assembly included the approval of the 2025-2026 budget and the adoption of the organisation’s work plan for the same period. Egypt’s Ministry of Civil Aviation, represented by the Civil Aviation Authority, emphasised its ongoing efforts to enhance regional and global civil aviation co-operation.

In addition to its re-election, Egypt was appointed to all ACAO technical committees, including the Air Transport Committee, Air Navigation Committee, Aviation Safety Committee, Aviation Security Committee, Environment Committee, and the Information and Institutional Communication Committee.

The Egyptian Civil Aviation Authority reiterated its commitment to advancing civil aviation standards and practices, contributing to the overall improvement of the aviation sector at both regional and international levels.
