BRUSSELS – EU Arabic Spokesperson for the Middle East and North Africa Luis Miguel Bueno said the EU continues coordination with Egypt, Jordan and partners in the region to calm the situation in the Gaza Strip.
In statements to Al Qahera News on Friday, Bueno said that the European Union seeks through its diplomatic channels to mount pressure on Hamas and Israel to implement the US proposal for a “full and complete ceasefire” in Gaza.
He also stressed the need to halt the Israeli war, particularly after more than 8 months of destruction and thousands of civilian deaths and injuries.
He said that the UN Security Council’s resolution to reach a ceasefire in Gaza is binding to all parties, stressing that the EU adopted a unified stance towards implementing this resolution and other relevant UN resolutions as soon as possible.
