A high-level source said Egypt will not stand idle in the face of the catastrophic humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip.
In statements to Al-Qahera News TV channel on Friday, the source added that the Rafah border crossing is an Egyptian-Palestinian terminal, noting that Egypt will get aid into Gaza through a mechanism to be agreed upon in coordination with the Palestinian National Authority.
He underlined that Egypt will counter any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause or isolate Gaza from the world.
The source stated that Egypt and the US agreed to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza via the Karm Abu Salem border crossing temporarily.
