Egypt’s Minister of Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Soha Gendy said on Tuesday that her ministry is keen to inform those wishing to travel abroad about the legal and normative frameworks of the destination country.

This came on the sidelines of the coordination meetings that Gendy directed to hold to set travel controls for Egyptian girls and raise their awareness of the labor laws in force in Arab countries, as well as raise awareness of their rights and duties in destination countries.

The meetings were chaired by Ambassador Amr Abbas, Assistant Minister of Emigration for Communities Affairs, and in the presence of representatives of the ministries of foreign affairs and labor and the authorities concerned with travel controls, according to a statement released Tuesday by the Emigration Ministry.

The minister directed officials to hold these meetings after the ministry received a number of calls for help from Egyptians working abroad, according to the statement.
