The Egyptian and British naval forces carried out joint naval exercise “the Alexandria Defenders”, which lasted for several days at the Alexandria Naval Base.
This exercise came as part of the joint training plan implemented by the Egyptian Armed Forces withfriendly countries, aiming to bolster prospects of military co-operation and exchange expertise in line with the latest combat systems.
The exercises stages included the implementation of many maritime activities, which covered trainingon searchingsuspected vessels, and confronting atypical threats, and liveammunition shooting, as well as training on first aid.
It demonstrated the far extent of thepreparedness and professionalism of the participating elements in carrying out thetasks assigned to them.
The conclusion of the training activities was attended byCommander of the Egyptian NavyVice Admiral Ashraf Ibrahim Atwa Megahed, the British ambassador in Cairo and the BritishDefense Attache, together with a number ofcommanders from the Egyptian Armed Forces.
