CAIRO – Egyptian Education Minister Reda Hegazy has emphasized the importance of applied technology schools.
These schools focus on teaching specialised practical skills, thus contributing to reducing youth unemployment rates, Hegazy said during a meeting with President of Cairo University Dr Mohamed Othman el-Khosht earlier Monday.
The meeting took up ways to boost joint cooperation with the aim to develop technology education and train teachers.
They also discussed means to benefit from the outcome of scientific research at the university.
The minister praised the pioneering role of Cairo University in the field of education and scientific research, and the role of its professors in developing education and training teachers in Egypt.
For his part, Khosht stated that theses probed at Cairo University now focus on scientific topics that serve various national concerns, particularly contemporary challenges and development issues.
