Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and his delegation were warmly welcomed on Tuesday at the Giza Plateau and the National Museum of Egyptian Civilisation (NMEC) in Fustat, on the sidelines of his official visit to Egypt.
At the Giza Plateau, Golovchenko was greeted by Ashraf Mohie, the director general of the pyramids area, who guided him through the Great Pyramid, panorama area, and the Great Sphinx, providing historical insights and explanations about the intricate carvings.
Golovchenko, who is deeply fascinated by Egyptian civilisation, inquired about the construction of the Great Pyramid and the reign of King Khufu.
Capturing the essence of the visit, Golovchenko took commemorative photos in this historic archaeological setting. Subsequently, he explored the NMEC in Fustat, where he was received by CEO of NMEC Ahmed Ghonem.
They toured the central display, halls of royal mummies, and Egyptian textiles, accompanied by comprehensive explanations of the museum’s establishment and its remarkable collection, which vividly narrates the history of ancient Egyptian civilisation.
Throughout the visit, Golovchenko expressed profound admiration for the museum’s portrayal of Egypt’s cultural heritage, particularly the Mummies’ Hall, which showcased the rich tapestry of Egyptian life and heritage across the ages.
Mummies’ Hall showcases the mummies of 20 of Egypt’s ancient kings and queens from the 17th to the 20th dynasty.
