Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani have discussed the latest developments in the joint efforts to reach a ceasefire in the war-ravaged Gaza Strip.
During a phone call initiated by Sheikh Hamad on Tuesday, the two leaders also reviewed efforts to exchange captives and ensure the flow of sufficient humanitarian aid into the besieged Palestinian enclave, according to Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy.
They reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining joint efforts and engaging with all relevant parties to end the war.
They also underscored their commitment to protecting the region from any spillover of the conflict, while working for restoring regional security and stability, the spokesman noted.
