THE Defence Minister and Commander-General of the Armed Forces, General Mohamed Zaki, on Sunday attended the inspection and upgrading the combat and technical efficiency procedures of the artillery units in the Central Military Zone’s range.
The event comes as part of ceremonies marking the Armed Forces celebration of 42nd anniversary of the Sinai Liberation.
Chief-of-Staff Lieutenant General Osama Askar and commanders of the main branches of the Armed Forces as well as a number of top commanders attended the event.
The artillery units have joined the mobilising formations and artillery administration after they were developed in line with the latest combat systems.
Minister Zaki addressed the event, conveying greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, to the lining up elements, and lauding their sincere efforts to protect the homeland and preserve the capabilities and sanctities of the Egyptian people.
Addressing the event, of the Central Military Zone Commander, Major General Staff Abdel Moati Allam, stressed the consistent support by the Armed Forces’ General Command, and follow-up of all activities and tasks carried out by all units and formations in the zone, seeking to reach the highest levels of combat readiness to defend the nation’s security and stability.
The procedures started with presenting reports on the units’ combat efficiency and the development they underwent to bolster their capabilities for carrying out all combat missions under various circumstances.
The Armed Forces has experienced successive leaps over the past period in terms of developing the training and armament systems in all major branches, formations and units to advance their combat capabilities in line with the relevant scientific basis to enable them to confront challenges that may target Egypt’s national security on all strategic directions, the Defence chief said.
