CAIRO – Egyptian Minister of Transport Kamal Wazir witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) Thursday on construction, development, operation, management and maintenance of Berenice Port.
The agreement falls within the framework of an ambitious plan under directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to turn Egypt into a regional center for transportation, logistics and transit trade, the minister said.
Berenice Port will contribute to boosting exports and imports between Upper Egypt and African countries, Wazir added.
The memo also falls within the context of magnifying the private sector’s participation in the Transportation Ministry projects.
